The Senior Research Study Coordinator supports and coordinates research and administrative activities for a set of research projects concerning critical issues facing urban schools. The Senior Research Study Coordinator is the main contact person for the projects and, under direction, is responsible for the project's organizational and administrative operations. The Senior Research Study Coordinator also participates in data collection and analysis, as appropriate. May require travel to research sites in Chicago and other cities.
Manages site relations; works closely with PI and research team on data collection including interviewing, observing, and shadowing at research sites; participates in analysis activities such as coding, data cleaning, transcribing, and summarizing; designs and maintains various project databases, tracks progress of project goals and obligations.
Works as part of a team doing data analysis; prepares and administers research study instruments including surveys, interview and observational protocols, and consent forms; prepares IRB protocols and revisions; helps develop proposal applications.
Assists with reviewing literatures and doing literature summaries; helps with citation reference work; builds and maintains bibliographic database; makes reference lists and citations for papers, articles, proposals, etc; compiles information on research methods, data, and findings in poster, slideshow, and journal publication formats; edits, reviews and submits project publications (may also include writing for publications and working closely with authors on revisions); prepares grant annual and final reports.
Coordinates day-to-day research program operations.
Acts as liaison for all project staff, consultants, external partners, subcontracts, research sites.
Coordinates all project ordering purchasing, reimbursements, consultant and subcontract payments, payments to research subjects.
Helps with travel arrangements.
Assists with mailings, scanning, library searches, etc.
Trains, directs, assigns duties to & may supervise research staff, students, residents &/or fellows.
Acts as a mentor in regard to education of junior coordinators.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in a major such as social or health science or related; OR appropriate combination of education and experience and 4 years' research study or other relevant experience required; OR
Successful completion of a full course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a master's or higher degree in a major such as social or health science or related; OR appropriate combination of education and experience and 2 years' research study or other relevant experience.
Must complete NU's IRB CITI training before interacting with any participants & must re-certify every 3 years.
