Based in Austin, TX, the VP Information Technology - Health Plan is the strategic technology leader for the Scott & White Health Plan (SWHP). As part of the IS organization, the VP is the single point of contact from IS for SWHP to help the organization accomplish its goals, primarily around growth, operational efficiency / effectiveness and integration with the BSWH system.
He/She plan will own the development of strategy and establish a multiyear technology plan and associated roadmap that clearly articulates milestones, budget and success criteria that supports the business objectives; drive integration across acquisitions and multiple platforms, execute the creation of a common set of platforms and a single view of the health plan member. Be the Single Point of Contact for all SWHP executives and BSWH delivery teams around technology initiatives; and manage client relationships to understand their needs and deliver to commitments accordingly. The VP will work with IS Delivery to drive a SWHP agenda that articulates transparency and accountability to deliver on commitments; own Business Leadership and be personally ingrained in the SWHP business and own/be responsible for the organization's success; and clearly translate SWHP needs and be the voice for the SWHP business leaders to the IS organization.
The VP will define the architecture that supports the future needs of SWHP to create stability and scale; create and provide thought leadership around the intersection of technology and SWHP business needs, especially around Digital Conduits, Analytics, and Transactional Systems for the Payor business; and deliver process improvement that will have impact for SWHP
The ideal candidate will have in depth knowledge of the Payor business (especially system owned health plan), in depth knowledge of Texas Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance, experience working with key health plan core administration packages, such as Health Rules and AMISYS and experience with merging health plans and related systems and data. The ideal candidate will have an in depth knowledge of technology in healthcare, experience with managing internal and external clients and partners in complex environments, innovative vision and passion for driving transformational change, self-motivated, establishes priorities/goals and measurements, and comfort level dealing with ambiguity/uncertainty.
The candidate will be credible, high integrity, authentic and trustworthy, consultative communicator and collaborator, establishes rapport, listens/seeks to understand, gains consensus, and builds long-standing professional relationships across multiple disciplines, and an ability to mentor both direct and in-direct reports
