The specific responsibility ofthe Program Coordinator is to assist the Vice Provost and the AdministrativeManager for Faculty in carrying out the responsibilities of the office as theyrelate to faculty, including day-to-day responsibility in managing facultypersonnel actions.The successfulapplicant will report directly to the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs.The successful candidate will demonstrate theabilities to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; to workindependently; to organize and carry out confidential and complex tasks; and towork with the University's leadership, faculty, and staff across the full rangeof the University's interests and activities, but especially those related tofaculty. The position will also provide support as needed to the AssociateProvost for Academic Initiatives, including work assisting with StateAuthorization Compliance, SACSCOC Accreditation Compliance, InstitutionalAssessment, and Federal Compliance. Hours are 8:00am until 5:00pm, Monday thru Friday (occasional evening and weekend hours required).

The Office of Faculty Affairsin the Office of the Provost oversees and promotes data-driven initiatives toimprove faculty recruitment, development, promotion, and retention.A principal responsibility of the office isto help the schools build outstanding faculties.Other responsibilities related to facultyinclude working with the Office of the Chancellor, Office of the Provost, andthe Office of the Board of Trust on faculty personnel actions;assisting with faculty developmentinitiatives including faculty events, internal funding programs, and facultyawards and prizes.
Duties and Responsibilities
Support the Promotion,Tenure & Review process
Develop and maintainpolicies and procedures to ensure effective tracking and reporting systems forfaculty hiring and appointments
Prepare personnelrecommendations for Board of Trust Office
Maintain and updateaccurate and confidential records
Schedule individual andgroup meetings as needed
Support and participatein training related to the systems, policies, and procedures used by the Officeof Faculty Affairs
Make updates towebsites
Digitize, convert, andorganize the faculty system using DocFinity
Provide administrativesupport for academic and strategic projects as needed

Profile of an Ideal Candidate
This position requiresa Bachelor's degree and 5 years of relevant experience in university-levelhigher education (or comparable), an understanding and appreciation of the roleof faculty in a research university, and familiarity and experience with a widerange of administrative support functions
Excellent customerservice, communication, and writing skills
Knowledge of MicrosoftOffice software, including MS Excel and MS Word
Good understanding ofthe Vanderbilt University system
Comfortable learningnew systems and technologies
Great team player
