The purpose of this position is to serve as a right-hand person to the College President by assuming responsibility for counsel and direct support, as well as serving as a liaison from the President to both internal and external constituents. The position provides leadership in the area of policy and procedure development, change and communication; provides professional-level written and verbal communications to President's Office constituents; and project management for the purpose of providing information for or in carrying out the College President's initiatives. This position has a high-level problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making component, working within the fast pace and complexity of a two-college, three-campus environment.
This is largely a project position, often requiring the synthesis of large amounts of data to create reports or summaries to present to the College President or other Cabinet members to recommend strategies for data-informed decision-making.
Issues can be complex, political, and sensitive, requiring a high level of discretion and confidentiality. The ability to influence through trust is critical. Analytical skills are frequently used in order to analyze situations and processes for appropriate response and to advise the College President.
Five years' work experience providing counsel and guidance to senior administrators or executives.
Evidence of exceptional writing skills to create effective written communications.
Demonstrated ability to work with discretion and high degree of confidentiality.
Demonstrated well-developed interpersonal skills and oral communication skills to professionally address, with poise and diplomacy, sensitive and confidential issues that might arise on a daily basis due to frequent contact with students, parents, faculty, staff, community members, and other college constituents.
Advanced proficiency in computer skills sufficient to
(a) create complex reports and documents using word processing;
(b) interpret databases and spreadsheets, and use data to communicate or influence decision-making;
(c) utilize college-specific programs and software
Project management experience.
Understanding of a higher education work environment.
Previous higher education work experience.
Working knowledge of the organizational structure of aligned/merged educational institutions.
Experience in synthesizing large amounts of data to recommend strategies for decision-making.

About ANOKA RAMSEY COMMUNITY COLLEGE
Anoka-Ramsey Community College (ARCC) is a multi-campus institution and a member of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system. The Coon Rapids Campus is located on the banks of the Mississippi River twentymiles north of downtown Minneapolis. The Cambridge Campus is located on west Highway 95 on the Rum River in Cambridge. Beginning in 1965 with 600 students in a wing of Centennial High School in Circle Pines, Anoka-Ramsey Community College has grown considerably. In 1967 the college moved to the current Coon Rapids Campus of approximately 103 acres. The Cambridge Campus opened in 1978 and has shown consistent growth in enrollment and facilities. In addition, students may complete many ARCC college courses at convenient off-site locations throughout neighboring communities. During the 2008-2009 academic year, more than 11,000 students completed credit classes at the college.
