We are looking for a computer programmer/software engineer with some attitude!

Responsible for providing engineering assistance to nonprofit agencies (NPAs) participating in the AbilityOne Program to improve the productivity of individuals with significant disabilities, to improve the sustainability of NPAs, and to increase the inclusion of those unable to find employment because of the severity of their disabilities. Assistance will be primarily through the promotion, design, and use of assistive technology, process improvements, trainings, and other appropriate means.
Will assist in the mission of creating employment opportunities and choices for people with disabilities. This requires working with the Productivity Engineering team and other SourceAmerica professionals to identify and prioritize organizations in need of engineering assistance.
Contacting and/or visiting NPA’s to assess their state of service and production activities.
Working with NPA management to prioritize the scope and sequence of engineering assistance.
Working off-site and/or on-site, as needed
Diagram production processes.
Identify types and sources of production waste - and assist in its elimination.
Assist with production line reconfiguration.
Design, develop, and test aids to production to improve accommodations for people with disabilities.
Develop procedures to improve production speed, quality, safety, productivity, and flexibility.
Create and encourage innovation and productivity improvements.
Development and follow-up of recommendations to NPAs
Develop resource and training materials to aid in the promotion of productivity enhancement and inclusion.
Maintain alliances with local rehab and assistive technology providers.
Perform additional duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Experience in assistive technology, productivity engineering, and/or work place accommodations.
Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Strong computer skills, including the Microsoft Office suite.
Strong networking ability.
Have the ability to develop sound working relationships with others and be able to work in a fast paced, complex environment.
Understanding of the AbilityOne Program.
Project management experience.
Excellent team and group development skills
