The digital specialist serves as the day-to-day manager of a variety of digital projects, including the university level content on sc.edu, college and unit-level site launches and sustainability, online tools, applications and digital campaigns and projects across the Communications and Public Affairs team. The digital specialist contributes as a member of the digital team to identify requirements, web architecture, and project scope while assigning tasks – sometimes to yourself. The ideal candidate must be a tech-savvy professional with an in-depth understanding of how technology can help us achieve our business goals. You should be methodical and have excellent time management skills and use your communication skills to collaborate effectively with various teams and ensure all team members are on board with delegated tasks.
Job duties to include:
Content Management: Working with a cross-functional team, the digital specialist is charged with the content health and management of the University level of sc.edu; including homepages, event landing pages, majors and degrees landing pages and affiliate sites to ensure accuracy, usability, accessibility, and overall ease of navigation. Guides content managers in departments across the university on best practices, including content, style and usability and technical support and coordinates with subject matter experts to ensure information across sc.edu is accurate and updated. Serves as a publishing backup/support for content managers with their site sections as needed. Contributes as a member of team to identify requirements, architecture and project scope for content across Communications and Public Affairs.
Project Management: Serves as a project coordinator and in this role directs, and coordinates work of the interdisciplinary teams assigned to digital projects to ensure that objectives are met, and a high degree of effectiveness is maintained. Coordinates web development plans and schedules, and advises team on planning, development, design, and implementation. In this capacity, incumbent works closely with the Director of Owned Media and Content Strategist to manage the ongoing web development enhancements and associated activities. Interacts and communicates clearly and confidently with clients, vendors and team members to determine needs, present ideas and accomplish a project from start to finish. Assists in determining appropriate assignments, setting priorities, monitoring progress, and reporting on progress in meeting established milestones and deadlines.
Analysis: Monitors and analyzes web-related statistics, identify trends and the nature, frequency and types of services requested, and uses this data to improve content and quality of services. As needed, 5% – Proactively presents solutions and ideas to the cross-functional team and leadership to improve the creation and effectiveness of strategic, engaging branded communications pieces and suggest new projects.

Advertised Minimum Qualifications :
Master's degree and 2 years professional experience related to the development and dissemination of informational material, or Bachelor's degree and 4 years related experience.
