The Development Coordinator will support the development program for the College of Business, which includes supporting the fund raising and philanthropic efforts of the Senior Director of Development for the College. Responsibilities include managing day-to-day front line operations, researching, and gathering relevant data. Responsible for providing administrative support, program coordination, interaction with internal and external constituencies, and major gift portfolio maintenance for the College in coordination with Office of Institutional Advancement.
Responsible for managing all administrative functions for the development team of the college. Research, identify prospects, and strategize ways to engage, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gift donors. Manage the calendar and respond to inquiries by phone, mail, email, or in person for the Senior Director. Coordinate other cultivation and stewardship activities for the Senior Director such as campus tours, luncheons or visits. Maintain donor database [Raiser’s Edge/Reheer] records to track donor activity, record updates and accurate prospect management in coordination with the Prospect Management and Research team in the office of Institutional Advancement. Assist in prioritizing prospect portfolio and scheduling qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship appointments, as assigned and preparing materials for appointments. Manage timelines and deadlines for the execution of development-related processes and ensure they are met. Coordinate with the Institutional Advancement Endowment Office to maintain updated information on all endowments housed in the unit and ensure proper procedures are followed for new proposals and agreements while facilitating and expediting processes. Coordinate the tracking of awarded scholarships within the College to ensure proper stewardship of donors. Serve as the point of contact for Development in the College for AcademicWorks. Coordinates travel arrangements and prepares vouchers for payment and reimbursement. Prepares documents regarding expenditures. Assist with items related to Alumni Relations for the College, including planning and arranging meetings or Development focused activities in conjunction with the Senior Director of Development and Institutional Advancement team. Including items related to the Board of Advisors for the College or other alumni outreach. Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree with two (2) years of experience in project management. OR high school graduation with six (6) years of increasingly responsible administrative, secretarial, and clerical experience. Ability to effectively engage with a wide range of individuals including students, faculty, staff and volunteers while representing the College of Engineering (COE) and the Office of Institutional Advancement in a positive, professional manner with alumni community. Excellent analytical, organizational, time management, written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills; ability to prioritize workload for timely completion of important tasks; and ability to maintain confidential information. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel and other common office software.
Prior work history at a higher education institution; the ability to work with a diverse student body, staff and constituents preferred. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a busy office in a professional demeanor. Familiarity with Raiser's Edge/Reheer, PeopleSoft, or related database software.
