As an integral member of the marketing communications team within the Division of Student Affairs, the Video Production Coordinator will use their exceptional technical skills, creativity, and organizational experience to effectively manage a robust video production and photography operation that meets University standards and successfully promotes events, programs, and services.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required, as is the ability to work both collaboratively and independently to manage a large volume of deadline-driven projects in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate must be proficient with the use of a variety of equipment and software, including Canon DSLR cameras for both video and photography, Adobe Premiere, After Effects, and Audition for video editing, and Photoshop and Lightroom for photo editing. Experience with professional lighting and sound equipment also is required. Some experience with basic Web site updating also is desired.
Primary responsibilities will include:
(1) Managing a video production program that produces professional videos for a wide range of clients. Candidate must collaborate with staff and effectively manage student interns, to take projects from conception to completion. Includes scriptwriting with colleagues, camera operations, lighting and sound, and post-production editing
(2) Overseeing photography services for the Division of Student Affairs including photo shoots, and maintaining an organized photo library
(3) Assisting with Web site updating and some social media marketing
(4) Assisting with special projects assigned by the Director of Marketing and Communications, Assistant Director for Creative Services, Associate Deans, and/or Vice Provost and Dean of Students
Bachelor's degree in video production, digital media, film studies, communications (with a heavy emphasis on video production/photography), or related field required, along with proven production experience. Basic knowledge of Web site development and graphic design preferred. Self-motivated individual who can excel with minimal direct supervision. Experience with all aspects of video production and photography required, including scriptwriting, camera operations, lighting, audio, and post-production editing (using FileMaker Pro, Adobe Premier, Motion, After Effects or comparable editing software); Photoshop; basic knowledge of Web site updating preferred; proficiency in navigating social media sites.
