Ball State University’s Fisher Institute for Health and Well Being is accepting applications for a full-time, professional position as Research Associate. The successful candidate will work with both the Directors of the Fisher Institute and other graduate faculty in the College of Health on research projects related to health behaviors (e.g., diet, physical activity), environmental factors (e.g., food environment, policies, social and economic factors) and health outcomes (e.g., child health, obesity, chronic diseases). The position offers outstanding training and career development opportunities including such as work on study design, data collection, data analysis, manuscript development, grant applications, and project management.
Minimum qualifications: Doctoral degree (PhD, MD or equivalent) from an accredited institution in a health-related field at time of appointment. Research experience on topics related to health and well-being; peer-reviewed publications and presentation at national conferences; participation in grant proposals.
Candidates must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred qualifications: Doctoral degree (PhD, MD or equivalent) in epidemiology, nutrition, health economics, health policy, or other health sciences closely related fields. Research experience on studies of chronic diseases and child health, evidenced by: greater than/equal to 5 peer-reviewed publications, including first-author status; investigator or collaborator role on grant proposals; skilled in data collection and data analysis with epidemiological type designs; statistical expertise; lifestyle interventions.
Preferred other: Strong publication record, solid written and verbal communication skills, experience working with diverse populations, and expertise in advanced modeling and international research.
