Digital Learning at Marquette University has three openings for Instructional Designers. Our Instructional Designers are responsible for managing the design and development of online and hybrid courses, interactive tutorials and other activities that support and enhance the faculty's instructional activities. The Instructional Designer will be part of a team that will collaborate with faculty to effectively utilize educational technologies and online learning tools in support of academic curricular development that enhances instructional delivery, increases active learning, and refines critical thinking.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Work with faculty, instructors, and graduate student teachers primarily to facilitate their courses online and enhance the educational experience for our students. 2.Provide one-on-one online/blended teaching and course design consultations. *Consult with faculty on the effective use of D2L and other instructional technology. This includes providing just in time support as well as having longer discussions on deciding which online tools are pedagogically appropriate to reach learning outcomes. 3.Assist faculty in analyzing and assessing the application of appropriate instructional tools and strategies to accomplish identified learning outcomes. 4.Implement, maintain, and enhance digital content affiliated with e-learning courses. 5.Develop and facilitate regular workshops on: online course design, D2L training, integration of classroom technologies. * Present at conferences, meetings, and events (both in person and virtual) relevant to the position 6.Maintain deep knowledge of current and emerging trends, issues, and best practices in educational technologies and multimedia instructional development. 7.Champion
