The Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management is a large and diverse School in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences which includes 44 professorial academics and 11 non-professorial academics who are internationally known scholars with training in the fields of applied economics and management science. The AEM community also includes over 700 undergraduates, 220 undergraduate minors, 100 graduate students, and 38 members of the professional and support staff. Research Assistant for Dean Wooten The research assistant will be responsible for developing cases, technical reports, articles, blogs, assessment reports, PowerPoint presentations, and managerial tools based upon primary data (surveys, interviews , focus groups, and organization visits) and secondary data (internet searches and library research). In addition, the research assistant should have program evaluation skills demonstrated through previous work experience of design, implementation, management and report writing of assessment plans for organizations and educational programming. The research assistant may also be responsible for coordinating research projects and serving as a liaison with contributors and collaborators. Duties and Responsibilities Reporting to the Dean of the Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management at Cornell University the responsibilities for the research assistant will include but are not limited to, supporting the dean's research projects and curricular initiatives of the Dyson School. The research assistant will be responsible for performing research, including on-site field research to support for case studies, research publications and curriculum design. The research assistant will need to gather information and data through interviews, on-line research, reviewing financial statements and related materials including libraries, government, and other resources. The research assistant may be asked to develop questionnaires, synthesize information, and prepare exhibits. In addition, the research assistant will need to develop and edit written materials including cases, course materials, articles and related items. The research may be asked to attend conferences, research meetings, and gatherings where ideas, initiatives and research topics are shared. Credentials/Qualifications: An undergraduate degree is required, and a Master's degree preferred, in the social sciences, economics or business related field. The person should have significant experience in conducting independent qualitative research as a principal investigator.
