Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Program Administrator I, for the Radiation Oncology-Cancer Biology Department at the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey.
The primary purpose of the Program Administrator position is to oversee day-to-day administrative operations of the clinical enterprise of Radiation Oncology. This includes, but is not limited to, proactive engagement and anticipation of clinical faculty needs, human resource management of staff, special projects management including value based reimbursement programs, and outreach to and liaison with stakeholders within and external to the University.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Assists in the review, analysis and appraisal of current department administrative procedures related to the clinical enterprise, organization and performance measures and helps to prepare recommendations for changes and/or revisions.
Works with Director to develop and implement training for administrative staff and ensures that the staff are trained and evaluated on their knowledge of and adherence to compliance policies and procedures specific to their jobs.
Provides high level administrative support in the management and coordination of administrative activities in the clinical enterprise of Radiation Oncology.
Oversees management and coordination of physician practice for the department of Radiation Oncology at practice sites.
Participates in short and long range planning for clinical enterprise by identifying needs and providing department leadership with relevant information.
Responsible for ensuring the attainment of overall clinic goals and objectives. This includes but is not limited to day-to-day administrative management. Manages administrative support staff.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related field, plus four (4) years of responsible experience in an academic or large business environment.
Equivalent education, experience and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirements.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Demonstrated proficiency with Rutgers immigration policies and procedures, including J, H and F visas.
Demonstrated proficiency in RAPSS, PeopleSoft and Oracle reports.
Superior organizational skills with the ability to manage numerous projects and people simultaneously.
Outstanding human relations and leadership skills, and the ability to function in a team environment.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
Knowledge of how to accomplish superior performance in a unionized environment.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
PHYSICALDEMANDS: Standing, sitting, walking, talking and hearing. No special vision requirements. Lifting up to 25 lbs.
