As the Business Analyst for the Senior Manager and Certification Regime ('SMCR') divisional project you will support the implementation of the SMCR across the business.
The role holder will be expected to provide business analysis support, working with stakeholders in Compliance and HR to review existing processes and systems, and to identify and document where enhancements are required under SMCR. The role holder will report to and support the project manager in driving the definition and design of SMCR implementation activities, timelines and priorities across the project's workstreams.
Accountabilities and main responsibilities
The role responsibilities will include:
Ensure own ongoing understanding of SMCR, its requirements and industry developments that may impact on its implementation.
Completion of a comprehensive review of existing HR and Compliance policies and procedures, identifying amendments and enhancements required to implement or align with the requirements of SMCR.
Definition and documentation of requirements from each of the business lines along with the divisional functions for enhancements to HR, Compliance and Risk systems.
Specification of requirements to system owners and vendors to identify suitable solutions for development and implementation.
Facilitation of user acceptance testing of enhancements to systems and operational processes and procedures.
Plan and prioritisation of own work and the delivery of project tasks and activities in accordance with the agreed project plans and timelines.
Previous experience in the implementation of the Senior Managers and Certification Regime in a bank or dual-regulated investment firm, and / or previous experience of a regulated firm's compliance under the Approved Persons Regime.
At least 5 years' experience and a track record of delivering projects within financial services, preferably in regulatory-driven change and operational transformation projects.
Self-motivated and delivery-focused with a hands-on mentality and the ability to work with both heads of functions and C-Suite executives.
Strong organisational and administrative and communication skills (presentational, inter-personal, diplomacy) and comfortable with questioning and challenging the business when appropriate.
Strong written and documentation skills with prior experience of working on complex multi-workstream projects, delivering business requirements documentation for systems, documentation of policies, processes and procedures.
Ability to work well as part of and in the interests of the team and a 'can do' attitude are imperative, working with both divisional HR and Compliance colleagues as well as members from each of the impacted business units.
Flexibility and an ability to learn swiftly is essential as you will need to work across multiple workstreams on the project across 3 lines of business.
