BUSINESS SYSTEMS ANALYST , Media Laboratory , to solicit, understand, and document stakeholder business requirements, processes, and workflows; develop both written and visual depictions of requirements and process flows; and create the reporting and test the developed functionality. Responsibilities include working with content experts in operational units to understand business processes and needs; designing, re-engineering, and maintaining multiple tools and solutions to meet those needs; automating processes to improve business results and operational effectiveness; identifying issues, analyzing data/information, and recommending changes; collaborating with the Media Lab's computing systems group and other MIT offices for data access and integration; ensuring accuracy of data through partnerships with users and day-to-day validation and spot checks; developing a practitioner's knowledge of the applications being transferred to the user; creating and updating system documentation; presenting ideas/tools to users/stakeholders; maintaining up-to-date knowledge of application best practices, methods, and techniques; and other duties as needed.
REQUIRED : high-level PC skills and advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, SQL, Salesforce, Postgres database, Tableau and Pentaho, or similar BI tools; solid understanding of accounting and finance principles; experience with KPIs and business dashboards; ability to work with multiple and diverse stakeholders; understanding of system analysis and design; demonstrated ability to communicate conceptual ideas clearly and effectively; excellent visual design skills for the clear and accurate presentation of data; initiative/self-direction and accountability for actions; and ability to take a big picture view while maintaining attention to detail. Bachelor's degree in a business or technical discipline, three years' overall experience in a functional and/or technical BSA or BI role, project management experience, and knowledge of SAP and FileMaker Pro preferred.
