Full Time; Career Starting Salary Range: $70,000-85,000/annually. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Involves designing, conducting and supporting supervisory, management, technical and non-technical training efforts for staff and faculty. Works with business units to determine training needs and develop appropriate training programs, technology and learning approaches accordingly.
Uses advanced formative assessment expertise, professional training and development concepts and organization objectives to resolve complex training issues and needs assessment initiatives. Works on highly complex performance and/or training issues, where analysis of situations requires an in-depth evaluation and understanding of organization strategies and strategic plan goals. Exercises judgment in selecting methods and techniques for performance improvement. Serves as 'lead' trainer and subject matter expert to develop in-person and online trainings for educators. Responds to member requests related to the formative assessment process and the Digital Library. Leads new resource development to support the formative assessment process in the classroom. Plans and facilitates in-person and online educator events.
This is a position within the Smarter Balanced division of the University of California Santa Cruz Extension. Smarter Balanced is a member led organization of states and territories that collaborate to provide formative, interim and summative assessment resources (e.g. tools, items, tests, etc) that help educators better prepare their students to be college and career ready after they leave high school.

Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
Advanced analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations, demonstrating organization and problem-solving skills.
Advanced knowledge of formative assessment and advanced understanding of how work impacts other areas in the assessment system.
Advanced knowledge of training, delivery methodologies and adult learning strategies.
Advanced verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and advanced presentation skills.
Must be able to work remotely from a home office.
Ability to travel (approximately 4-6 times per year).
Selected candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment criminal history background check.
