Patrick Henry Community College (PHCC) is a comprehensive two-year college of the Virginia Community College System, serving the City of Martinsville and the counties of Henry and Patrick. PHCC serves approximately 3,500 credit and almost 2,700 non-credit students annually and, consistently ranks among the top ten âMost Tech-Savvyâ community colleges in the country by the Center for Digital Education. It is one of the nationâs 82 âAchieving the Dreamâ Leader Colleges. The college offers transfer programs, in addition to career-track and certification programs, and serves more than 200 employers through workforce development. It is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). Position Summary: Patrick Henry Community College is seeking a full-time welding faculty member. The Welding program is designed to prepare students to work as welders and to provide them with an introduction to basic problems associated with the various types of equipment and materials used in welding. Responsibilities include define learning objectives, prepare and teach classes, create a student-oriented learning environment, and evaluate student learning in assigned courses. The major emphasis is on teaching, by working with students in classrooms, laboratories, individual conferences, and related activities to help the students develop their interests and abilities to the fullest capacity to become better persons, better workers, and better citizens. Responsibilities may include work during the day and/or evening programs of the college, as well as its distance learning programs. This is a 9-month faculty position expected to start August 16th, 2019. Salary: Expected Hiring Range: $46,000-$56,000 plus excellent benefits package; salary is based upon education and experience.
