Responsible for organizing and completing data collection as part of studies being conducted within participating public school systems funded by the Institute of Educational Services and National Institutes of Justice. The research program coordinator will also hire, train, and supervise short-term data collectors for the conduct of classroom observations and school fidelity measures. Further, the coordinator will provide administrative and reporting support.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
The Research Program Coordinator will be responsible for organizing and completing data collection, including direct assessment with students; provision of survey materials to teachers and parents; and classroom observations computerized classroom observations as well as and for the administration, scoring and coding of achievement tests with select students. Duties include but are not limited collecting data using computerized and paper-pencil interviewing materials designed to assess a broad range of tailored and comprehensive cognitive scores, classroom behaviors, and school climate. With regard to classroom-based observations, the coordinator will hire short-term data collectors and train them in the applicable tools, including the ASSIST and CLASS observational tools (i.e., requiring two days of training) as well as the School-wide Evaluation Tool, which is conducted through walk throughs and interviews with select school staff. The coordinator will work with school administrators and teachers to schedule and assign collectors to specific schools and dates and will verify and log the confidential data into a centralized database. Duties also include reviewing completed data for accuracy and generating summary reports. Candidate will attend training to learn how to work independently to establish contact with administrators, teachers, students, and families, build rapport, and conduct unbiased computerized observations/student assessments within the school. Must successfully pass training to continue with employment. Will also meet regularly with research team as part of weekly supervision meetings. In addition, will be responsible for traveling to schools as needed, to gather scheduling information, conduct the classroom observations, and student assessments. Provide general administrative support for the projects, including scheduling of meetings and trainings, maintaining project correspondence, ordering supplies, submitting invoices, processing travel reimbursements, and procurement card transactions. Assist in the preparation of a variety of reports (e.g., progress reports) for the State Leadership Team, collaborating agencies, participating schools and school districts, and funding agencies. Provide support to project management, IRB, and future grant applications.
Bachelor's degree in related discipline. Some related experience.
Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Bachelor's degree in related discipline and some related work experience in coordinating public health intervention and evaluation projects required.
Master's degree preferred.

Proficiency with laptops, tablets, and computers, as well as ability to operate a telephone, printer, fax, copier.
Experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, & Power Point and SPSS or other data management software.
Ability to effectively multi-task. Excellent professional judgment and discretion.

Must be able to work independently and self-motivate as part of a team in a high-paced research environment.
