Research Scientist, Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE)-2011637
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) has an immediate opening for a Research Scientist/Postdoctoral Research Associate at the CMU Pittsburgh location. We are a diverse academic community just shy of 1,400 individuals (faculty, staff and students) and include global research and teaching efforts through extensions of our Pittsburgh academic programs and research in Silicon Valley, Portugal, Africa, Thailand and Singapore.
In this role, you will perform research and engineering tasks in a research project to build new capabilities for hardware security, and to implement advanced integrated circuit designs as demonstration vehicles. You will be primarily responsible for working with students and other researchers on specific methods for obfuscation of design intent and identification of hardware Trojans. The work associated with the design of digital integrated circuits in advanced CMOS technologies requires the use of commercial electronic design automation tools.
Your primary responsibilities include:
Acting as team leader, providing project management direction
Contributing in developing and documenting research findings and collaborator in writing scientific papers
Leading research efforts within main goals of project, and help oversee interactions with other team members and universities
Assisting with the generation of reports and data to illustrate results
Meeting with other research staff and graduate students and the possibility of travel for interaction with the fabrication facility
Proposing and leading independent research goals within scope of projects
Writing documentation, technical papers, progress reports and participating in meetings/committees
Determining priorities for project area based on overall organizational goals
Directing the work of project members to ensure goals are achieved
Frequently presenting research findings to current or potential sponsors and at major national or international conferences
Excellent Project Management Skills and oral and written communications required
Strong analytical skills required
This position will be hired at a Research Scientist level or Postdoctoral Research Associate level depending on applicant experience.
This is a fixed-term, full time benefits eligible position. Length of assignment will be determined based on project needs.
