GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Framingham State University is seeking applicants for a part-time Digital Projects Assistant for 15 hours per week. The Digital Projects Assistant will work under the general supervision of the Emerging Technologies and Digital Services Librarian and alongside the Digital Repository Coordinator. Duties include:
Scanning and digitalizing items
Editing PDF and image flies for upload to the digital repository
Uploading items and metadata to the Framingham State Digital Commons Repository
Creation of video tutorials about library resources
Creation of marketing materials for the library
Other duties as assigned
The Framingham State Digital Commons Repository contains an eclectic collection of digital research assets and archival materials. The Framingham State University Digital Commons Repository can be viewed at: http://digitalcommons.framingham.edu
College degree and/or MLS candidate
Familiarity with Microsoft Office
Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat Pro and Photoshop or similar
Ability to work independently or collaboratively
Ability to be detail oriented
Ability to handle fragile papers and photographs with care and dexterity
Eager to learn new software and hardware
Experience creating webcasts or video editing experience
Experience working in an academic setting
This is a part-time, non-benefits eligible position for 15 hours per week (and not to exceed 18 hours). Work hours will fall between 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday. The exact schedule will be set by the Emerging Technologies and Digital Services Librarian and the successful applicant. This is a part-time contract position. No benefits.
Pay Rate: $14.00/per hour
