The Multimedia Reporter, Innovation & Business is responsible for engaging and informing users of wbur.org and WBUR 90.9 with an editorial focus on the local innovation/tech/business sector. This position is responsible for covering news events, developments, and feature stories with an emphasis on the innovation and tech sectors as assigned by the Managing Editor, News Content or the Managing Editor, News. The Multimedia Reporter monitors daily news and makes the independent judgment on when, how, and whether to pursue a news story. The Multimedia Reporter is responsible for the complete execution of a multimedia story for both digital and radio platforms, including conducting interviews, writing stories, posting and monitoring on social media platforms as well as monitoring comment threads of each news items produced. Additional duties include developing sources and contributing to story ideas as well as contributing to WBUR social media channels, especially those focused on coverage of innovation, tech and business. Must have a strong comprehension of online news presentation. Must understand mission and tone of public radio. Must be a self-starter and prolific contributor.
B.A./B.S. required, Masters Degree preferred. Experience in public radio and five to eight years of related work experience.
