Patrick Henry Community College (PHCC) is a comprehensive two-year college of the Virginia Community College System, serving the City of Martinsville and the counties of Henry and Patrick. PHCC serves approximately 3,500 credit and almost 2,700 non-credit students annually and, consistently ranks among the top ten "Most Tech-Savvy" community colleges in the country by the Center for Digital Education. It is one of the nation's 82 "Achieving the Dream" Leader Colleges. The college offers transfer programs, in addition to career-track and certification programs, and serves more than 200 employers through workforce development. It is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). Position Summary: The Director of Development and Executive Director of the Foundation reports directly to the President and administers all fundraising programs and activities undertaken by the college or by the foundation on behalf of the college to secure the resources needed to achieve its mission and goals. This position has a significant level of external responsibilities and contacts including serving as the college representative on community boards and in community organizations; representing the college in leadership positions in local, state, and national professional and educational organizations. Additionally, the position serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Patrick Henry Community College Foundation and ensures that all policies and procedures comply with local, state, and federal accounting practices. The Director will work directly with the local College Board, the Foundation Board, the College President, and the President's Executive Leadership Team to determine resource needs for the institution and implement a plan to secure resources for those needs. The Director will manage and supervise special events that advance the college and work closely with the Vice President for Finance to evaluate student activity and special events budgets. This individual will also manage institutional alumni affairs, including alumni events, alumni relations, and maintenance of alumni records.
