PRODUCER/EDITOR , Office of Digital Learning (ODL) , to execute media creation for specific MITxPRO courses and other projects, from development and planning, through filming, editing, and delivery. Will oversee media budgets and manage freelance contractors; interface with faculty and other content producers to ensure accuracy, clarity, and creativity in all media created; work with corporate and industry contributors to develop and integrate media content for MITxPRO programs; edit content to create course videos in a variety of formats/styles; work with course development staff to build courses in learning platforms such as edX or those managed by other partners; and collaborate with media development director and other MIT Open Learning media staff to assess new technologies, develop media experiments, and guide the department's strategic direction.
REQUIRED : bachelor's degree; three years' experience as a producer and editor of video and media content, preferably in an educational/higher learning environment; at least two years' experience creating educational, documentary, and promotional video programs; knowledge of nonlinear video editing and multimedia and design software, especially Adobe Creative Suite (Premier/After Effects/Illustrator/Photoshop); strong creative vision and ability to make aesthetic and content judgments of video programs; knowledge of Macintosh and Windows operating systems; solid understanding of video post-production workflows and interest in video and IT support systems; familiarity with digital video formats and files; understanding of video production techniques, including camera, lighting, and audio recording; interest in new and rapidly changing video technologies and ability to stay informed of developments in this area; and ability to handle complex, deadline-driven projects, manage time effectively, work independently, and handle detail-oriented tasks.
