Position Summary: Under the direction of the Director, Information Technology, the Manager - Database and Application Development will advance enterprise relational databases and software applications. Candidate is required to collaborate effectively with others in the collection, maintenance, programming, communication, coordination and application of data. In general, responsible for producing database applications to streamline the agency's business processes as well as to convey the agency's mission to internal staff, members and the general public. Provide expertise in all aspects of development to support the Planning, Programming and Administrative functions of the agency - including researching and synthesizing enterprise-wide information, and other tasks as assigned. The Manager will possess strong technical skills in database development and analysis, and programming as well as good communications abilities and the desire and temperament for a collaborative, dynamic work environment. The Manager, Database and Application Development will work closely with other NJTPA Departments as required.
Prerequisite Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college with a Master’s Degree information systems, planning or related technical field with course specialization in Transportation Planning and/or Geographic Information Systems. 5+ years of related experience to provide expertise in: software development; project management; transportation analysis, particularly related to communicating planning information; Geographic Information Systems; and visualization. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
