The Regional Director of Radiology is responsible for working collaboratively with Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital (CVPH) Administration, Network Hospital Directors, and Network Department Chair for the purpose of routinely evaluating and improving services and care coordination offered across New York network hospitals. The Regional Director is responsible on a daily basis for the administratrion of technical services associated with the operation of the regional Radiology Departments. The Regional Director is responsible for the management of the radiology business line, that market position is maintianed or improved through the utilization of sound business planning practices, implementation of cost control programs, implementation of revenue generation programs and implementation of robust Marketing and Communications programs to eliminate leakage within the designated service area. The Regional Director participates, leads, and develops short and long term strategy insures their service is the service of choice in their designated service area. The Regional Director ensures high quality standards,with an emphasis on patient and family centered care. The Regional Director acts as a resource for physician practices in radiology services and hospital/systems implementation of joint interest programming. The Regional Director will focus on three key primary areas of concern when evaluating opportunities for improvement to include quality patient care services, people satisfaction, engagement, retention and advancement, and improving educational opportunities for students who train within the network departments. The analysis of performance in these areas should include the evaluation of patient satisfaction survey data, staff retention and financial performances.
Responsible for the oversight of the delivery of care for radiology. This is completed in collaboration with the radiologists and the team of managers/supervisors overseeing the program.
Includes elements of clinical care as well as patient and employee satisfaction.
Responsible for meeting regulatory guidelines established by the New York State Department of Health (DOH) and Joint Commission.
Responsible for maintaining compliance for accreditation with the American College of Radiology (ACR) for multiple entities.
Responsible of oversight of the CVPH School of Radiology.
Lead and develop robust population health strategies focused on prevention and early detection of diseases.
Maintains a robust marketing and communication programs in their service focused on referring providers and consumers.
The Regional Director of Radiology works in a matrix reporting relationship.
The Regional Director reports to both the Regional VP of Professional Services and the Network Chair of Radiology.

Responsible for meeting budgeted targets for revenue and expenses for the Radiology.
The Regional Director has freedom to act within the budgetary guidelines established for the department. Authority to initiate financial actions that ensure the financial viability of the Department.
The incumbent uses independent judgement in determining coordination channels when taking actions.
Approves/disapproves operational and capital expenses for their department, and provides oversight of expenses related to regional network hospitals.
The Regional Director is free to establish work methods, makes changes to personnel and implement other operational decisions in accordance with the organization's standard policies and procedures.
Service Management and Strategic Planning
Responsible for the establishing goals and providing direction team members to achieve those goals.
Collaborates with the medical director to establish quality measures for the program.
Establishes multi-year capital plan for this capital intensive department.
Develops additional imaging educational programs.
Physician Relations and Management
Collaborates with contracted/employed radiologists and multiple referring physicians for the use of radiology services.
Manages relationships with the administration and referring physicians at all imaging locations within service area.
Interacts with members of the faculty, staff, and network leadership.
Resolves patient/physicians complaints, interacts with vendors, entertains sales proposals, works with Program Directors of some of the local colleges, and represents the organization at relevant seminars and training sessions.
BS or BA degree in Radiology Science or Radiology Administration or equivalent required.
Masters degree in Business Administration or Healthcare Administration required.
New York State license in one or more imaging modalities preferred.
LEAN and SIX Sigma or Project Management preferred.
Experience with, and be prepared to address on an ongoing basis, issues that arise with professional and technical component billing required.
Should have in-depth knowledge of all modalities to include: equipment, personnel and patient care issues, marketing strategies and regulatory requirements, (i.e. Mammography, MRI, US, CT, Nuclear Medicine, Joint Commission, NY STATE DOH, etc.) required.
5 years leadership experience in a similar role is required. 10 years preferred.
Excellent oral and written presentation skills and fluent in use of database and presentation software.
In-depth knowledge of all imaging modalities required.
Systems implementation experience with a Radiology Information System, and is well versed in the areas of Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), Tele radiology, Electronic Health Record, and Speech Recognition is required.
Computer literate within Microsoft Office Suite and able to prepare spreadsheet and documents appropriate for review by Hospital Administration required.
