As the senior leadership team member of the Student Life Dining Services, this position is primarily responsible for administrative and planning functions of the department. Serves as leader on all construction projects for Dining Services operations. Supports short, long-term facilities planning, and physical improvement of the operations, including small and large construction projects. Oversees technology related projects for high volume multi-facetted dining operations. Oversees infrastructure and equipment maintenance. Serves as a member of the Executive Team with responsibility for the leadership of operational units as assigned, including OSU Regional campus dining services concepts. Supervises management staff who in turn leads subordinate managers, regular full time staff and student employees. Assists with the development of and ensures compliance with operational budgets, assuring that fiscal goals are met. Responsible for leading and fostering a team of staff, in a diversity-valued organization, to serve and support customers in the university environment. Ensures that operations are run in an efficient, fiscally responsible manner; serves as a representative of Dining Services on University, Divisional and Department committees, ensuring that the vision and direction of the department is in line with the goals of Dining Services, as well as Student Life. Participates in centralized planning, implementation and evaluation of the overall Student Life Dining Services program.
1.Lead the continuous improvement process of enhancing technology utilization, physical facilities, and various administrative functions of the department. This will include market research, understanding university standards, collaborating with multiple departments. 2.Oversee and coordinate all Dining Services infrastructure and equipment maintenance. Coordinate all large equipment purchases according to university and departmental guidelines. 3.Oversee the operational management of various food service operations featuring multiple styles of service, including Fast Casual, Quick Services, and other food services at all regional campuses for OSU. 4.Oversee student employment and development programs. 5.Oversee and manage Dining Services routine technology needs. 6.Create Dining Services physical facilities plan and coordinate with appropriate departments to create budget, construction plan, and coordinate final construction.

Student Life’s Dining Services operates over 30 different food service brands on OSU’s Columbus campus. A variety of dining styles are provided through these locations, including traditional dining, pizza delivery, grab and go, quick-service, fast-casual, full service and marketplace/station dining. Through these operations, well over 10 million guests will be served during the 2018-19 year. In addition to the Columbus operations, Dining Services oversees food service facilities at the Wooster and Newark campuses, supporting OSU, the Agricultural Technical Institute and Central Ohio Technical College. Full service catering is provided to the OSU Columbus community through its aptly named University Catering division. Additionally, Dining Services provides management support to the OSU Child Care Center, located on the Columbus campus.
The executive team includes a Senior Director, along with highly experienced operations management, culinary, marketing and finance team members. This leadership structure, and supporting unit-level management teams, also supports the development and training of over 2,600 student employees, the largest student employee base of any department on campus. As a division of the Office of Student Life, we also have access to significant additional university resources that complement and enhance the academic curricula.
The Associate Director of Administration directly reports to the Senior Director of Dining Services. This is primarily an administrative position with limited operational responsibilities. In addition to the regular supervisory responsibilities, this position may have to supervise staff on various capacities during special events or while serving as a back-up to other Associate Directors. This position will be primarily involved in strategic initiatives related to Dining Plan development, technology planning and implementation, facilities planning and implementation, administrative functions related to student employment and development, other administrative office functions such as front desk, customer service, refunds, purchase order processing etc. Although this is an administrative position, the individual in this position will have significant influence in making decisions on behalf of the Senior Director.

Target Salary: $85,500.00 - $96,500.00 Annually
