Summary: The Epic Cogito Reporting Manager isresponsible for the overall success of analytics within the Epic environmentand for coordinating analytics tasks across all Epicapplications. The Manager has strong communication skills,experience with project management, provides direction and leadership to staff,and ensures analytic projects align with system goals. The manageris a key participant in the organization's analytics strategy, deliveringinformation to the enterprise through analytics and data visualizationplatforms. The Manager is responsible for the daily operation andstaff management of the Cogito Reporting team in support of the Health CareSystem. Key responsibilities are: manage and coordinate analyticstasks; act as project manager for analytics projects or assist project managerin managing projects; guide and manage staff to coordinate with business usersto translate business requirements into analytics, reports and dashboards;assists with the design and development of databases; data governance; andmaintain and support analytics applications and tools. The Manager willsupport, promote and drive implementation of best practices in the areas ofbusiness intelligence and analytics. The Manager demonstrates strong leadershipskills. The Manager will work with the Director to lead and promote effortswithin the department to help standardize work processes and understanddepartmental capacity, and promote innovation in all aspects of the team'swork. The Manager will also ensure that all systems, reports, and dashboardsenhance and safeguard proprietary patient, family, and employee confidentiality,data integrity, security, and availability to appropriate staff.
Bachelor's degree required.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in information technologyrequired.
Minimum of 3 years in a management, supervisory or leadposition required.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Health Careenvironment preferred.
Epic Tapestry Certification preferred.
Experience working in a health plan preferred.
Epic Clarity, Radar, Workbench, and/ or Star Data warehousecertification(s) a plus.
Knowledge and Experience:
Experience with project management and its methodologies andbest practices.
Experience with business intelligence tools: Microsoft BIstack, SAP Business Objects, Qlikview, Spotfire, Tableau, or CrystalReports.
Experience programming in R, SAS, Python, SQL or equivalentprogramming languages.
Experience with Business Intelligence developmentlifecycle.
Proven experience with business and technical requirementsanalysis, elicitation, modeling, verification and methodologydevelopment.
Experience overseeing the design, development, andimplementation of business intelligence and database solutions, systems, orproducts.
Experience with implementing third-party applications andsupporting enterprise applications.
Experience working closely with vendors, reviewing contracts,and vendor management.
The ability to create systematic and consistent requirementsspecifications in both a technical and user-friendly language.
Ability to apply statistical and other research methods intosystems issues and products as required.
Able to exercise independent judgment and takeaction.
