This position is within the Division of IT Services, which manages and supports the campus shared services centralized administrative and academic services, storage and networking infrastructure, development and operational service of the University of Missouri Saint Louis campus.
The University of Missouri Saint Louis is searching for a Project Manager to engage Information Technology teams including functional and operational stakeholders on business cases impacting technology implementations, product or service changes, and product lifecycle management initiatives. As a member of the team you will be responsible for collaborating with development teams and product owners serving as a coach, mentor, mediator, and planner while reviewing and validating business requirements, facilitating stand up meetings and sprints, as well as working with project management resources and communicating statuses to stakeholders.
Responsibilities As Project Manager, you will utilize multiple project methodologies to meet complex business requirements needed to deliver new, cutting-edge technology to our clients. More specifically, you will:
Optimize working relationships within the team and understand individual team member talents.
Mediate conflicts that arise between the goals of the development team and product owner/stakeholders.
Use agile or other project estimation techniques to help the team and program estimate efforts and timelines.
Conduct or participate in daily stand-up meetings, planning, and review sessions.
Engage in continuous learning in Agile and other project management techniques and tools, and exchange knowledge with other Project Managers.
Contribute to an atmosphere of cross-functional teamwork within the organization's project life cycle.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent job experience.
Ability and willingness to lead cross-functional groups
High level of accountability to oneself and to the team
Commitment to achieve results despite tight deadlines and shifting priorities
Demonstrated experience prioritizing tasks and mitigating road blocks
Demonstrated experience with Agile development methodologies and processes on actual project / program engagements.
PMI Project Manager certification and/or Agile certification such as CSM (Certified Scrum Master)
