The Assistant Director of Digital Fundraising will work with the UNC Medicine Annual Giving and Marketing teams to create an integrated, comprehensive, engaging and effective approach to fundraising communications/solicitations. Working collaboratively with the Annual Giving team, s/he will have primary responsibility for digital fundraising – including email, social media, peer-to-peer, and crowdfunding. The Assistant Director is an innovative professional prepared to lead UNC Medicine’s electronic communication/solicitation initiatives. S/he will use communications to demonstrate the need for funding for research, education, and patient care, while communicating the impact of private support. The totality of the communications efforts should promote UNC Medicine’s mission, brand and advancement efforts in the context of a rapidly-changing communications landscape.
Education and Experience:
3+ years of annual giving and digital communications experience; data management skills. Must demonstrate excellent organizational skills; excellent interpersonal skills and sound judgment; attention to detail and accuracy; creativity and problem-solving skills; high proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel. Must demonstrate ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse constituencies, meet deadlines, be self-motivated, work independently, demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to shifting priorities. Must have a customer service oriented attitude, and the ability to be a team player with proven relationship and influencing skills and ability to collaborate with colleagues from a variety of internal and external functional areas. Must be a proven strategic and analytical thinker. Familiarity with Blackbaud CRM and BBIS is preferred. Familiarity with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill preferred.
