Reporting to the Department Head of Mechanical Engineering and to the site director of the NSF I/UCRC WindSTAR, the position includes responsibilities in two general areas: operations support and business development to the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Wind Energy Research area, specifically support to the WindSTAR NSF I/UCRC. As part of the Wind Energy Research and Development Team, the position provides execution support for WindSTAR initiatives such as business development and member recruitment. The position provides seasoned operations support for the department and provides additional capacity and workload relief to the department head and faculty as the department continues significant growth.
Bachelor’s degree in related field.Three plus years relevant professional experience.Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Minimum Education and Experience: BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; 3 plus years working in the renewable energy sector; experience in business development; experience in project management.
Preferred Education and Experience: MS in Engineering or MBA; 3 plus years working in the wind energy industry; experience in business development; experience in customer relations and marketing; experience in academic boards supporting academic research and/or education.
