The Role / Responsibilities: The AVP Operations Specialist represents a key role that will provide project management and tactical business process re-engineering that is critical to the execution of MIS Latin America strategies. The individual in this role will also provide support to the Latin America Regional Management in regulatory matters.
Lead cross-functional projects and process re-engineering/remediation activities that support the end-to-end rating process, business transformation directives or evolving regulatory requirements.
Lead the successful transition of projects and process enhancements to business as usual, where applicable, including drafting communication, global training, procedures, etc.
Demonstrate Subject Matter Expertise on the end-to-end Commercial and Rating Processes, global Regulatory Policies and Procedures as well as supporting operational procedures and guidelines
Continuously seek out opportunities to streamline and standardize business processes and enhance operational controls and efficiencies.
Lead a team and/or activities related to performing root cause or deep dive analyses, remediation efforts and/or process improvements
Identify and comply with all ad-hoc regulatory reporting activities of the region due time and format.
Generate steering committee recommendations and project status reports for MIS senior management . Coordinate monthly calls with Regional Management and Control Functions to update them on any geographic operational/regulatory issue.
Maintain up-to-date the local websites and to coordinate any necessary update.
Coordinate alongside the Geographic Management Team and the Control Functions any necessary training on regulatory changes in the region.
The Department / Team: Geographic Management provides coordinated, cohesive and focused geographic leadership in MIS's global LOB construct to inform, provide input and better execute strategies across the regions in which MIS operates. In collaboration with the Commercial Group, Global Operations and the ratings LOBs, Geographic Management coordinates, provides oversight and reports on the execution of MIS and relevant Shared Services strategies across MIS geographies and provides leadership of cross-LOB geographic initiatives, such as adjustment to regulatory changes, expansion and redefinition of MIS's geographic footprint and activities. This also includes: i) representing MIS with regulatory bodies and other key stakeholders; ii) coordinating budgeting and planning for MIS non-US operations; and iii) coordinating with Corporate Development on execution of affiliate strategy in the regions.
Undergraduate BA/BS degree in business, finance/economics, management or similar field; MBA a plus
8+ years of operational control, business process and/or business analysis experience with strong analytical and problem solving skills
Experience managing global, cross-functional projects and teams required
Strong leadership skills and an ability to set direction, ensuring working groups meet project deliverables
Demonstrated ability to interact effectively, internally and externally, with the most senior representatives of organisations.
High levels of understanding needed of the policy making process, the main drivers, interactions and likely outcomes.
Ability to interact comfortably with different levels of management and articulate/present issues clearly and succinctly
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish.
Self-starter and team player with ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple, competing priorities
Self-confident and collaborative individual who is comfortable in a multi-cultural and international work environment.
