Global Market Infrastructures (GMI) is a global function within the Chief Administrative Office (CAO) of the Corporate and Investment Bank (CIB). GMI is responsible for managing J.P. Morgan's network of agent banks and financial market infrastructures (FMI) to meet J.P. Morgan's requirements for cash and securities services for proprietary and client activities in over 100 markets. The network of providers includes banks, brokers, payment systems, central counterparties, securities depositories and check clearing systems.
GMI is comprised of separate teams - Market and Infrastructure Management (MIM), Network Client Consulting (NCC), Network Performance Management (NPM), Information Management and Delivery (IMD), Agent Change Management (ACM), and Practice Development. GMI has a global presence in key locations to provide market and client coverage.
Within GMI, the MIM team leverages the standards of J.P. Morgan's Third Party Oversight (TPO) program to select, monitor and offboard providers as required by our various lines of business and to meet J.P. Morgan's regulatory requirements. In addition to managing the commercial relationships with our providers and conducting oversight visits or calls, we also gather market intelligence to develop a deep understanding of the markets we service for the benefit of our clients and lines of business.
GMI provides value to both external and internal clients through the combination of market expertise, depth of market and client relationships and delivery of market information.
GMI is currently recruiting for a Vice President based in Hong Kong or Singapore to manage provider relationships in selected key markets and to lead the regional TPO implementation for central counterparties.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Manage a portfolio of provider relationships in selected key markets, including maintaining relevant documentation and managing spend.
Lead the implementation of TPO for central counterparties in Asia Pacific.
Develop strong relationships with the lines of business and with NCC to align support with business strategies and client requirements.
Obtain and deliver timely and relevant market expertise, information and insight to support the various lines of business and clients.
Complete periodic due diligence reviews, including in-market visits, to address TPO requirements with support from other GMI teams and functional partners.
Lead requests for information (RFIs) and requests for proposal (RFPs) to assess and select new providers. Work with the GMI ACM team to transition to new providers.
Lead the negotiation of contractual arrangements and fee schedules for new and existing providers, where applicable.
Support NPM and NCC in responding to operational and client requirements.
Support regulatory and audit requirements as required.
Previous experience working with or dealing with agent banks, prime brokers, carry brokers and FMIs preferred. Previous Network Management experience is an advantage.
Proven securities, cash management and payments experience in the financial services industry.
Previous experience with central counterparties is an advantage.
Experience in the areas of risk management, compliance and oversight and control.
Strong relationship management, influencing and negotiation skills.
People management experience in a team-oriented workplace preferred.
Strong communication (verbal and written), analytical and project management skills.
Strong Microsoft Office skills.
Self-motivated with a strong ability to work across the global GMI team and across J.P. Morgan, developing partnerships with the LOBs and functional areas such as Compliance, Legal, Risk and Technology.
Attention to detail combined with an ability to absorb information and develop a strategic approach.
Knowledge of the CIB and/or Asset & Wealth Management lines of business.
