The Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy and the Center for Pharmacoepidemiology and Treatment Science (PETS) at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey invite applications for a faculty position in pharmacoepidemiology with a research focus on post-marketing surveillance of medications and drug policy.
We are seeking an exceptional researcher who is dedicated to developing or maintaining her or his own independent research program, has a commitment to collaborative work and graduate teaching, and shows the ability to be a leader in the field of pharmacoepidemiology. Successful candidates will have an established track record of publication and funding commensurate with their career stage. PETS aims to build a strong, energetic cohort of researchers and teachers in pharmacoepidemiology who are dedicated to academic excellence and research that improves the health and wellness of individuals and populations.
Applicants will receive an appointment at the School of Pharmacy and at PETS. The majority of the faculty’s effort will be dedicated to pharmacoepidemiology research and the PETS Center. The position is full-time, tenure-track, with full support for 3 years, and the expectation of having substantial grant support by the beginning of the 4th year on the PETS faculty.
Minimum Education and Experience:
The ideal candidate will have:
-A doctorate degree in pharmacy (PharmD) and doctorate-level training in pharmacoepidemiology or related disciplines. -A strong track record of peer-reviewed journal articles. -Postdoctoral training; a K-award, R21 or R34 funding; and/or other evidence of preparation to become R01-funded principal investigators. -A research focus on post-marketing surveillance of medications, drug policy, and pharmacoepidemiological methods.

-Excellent organization, research, planning, project management, and problem-solving skills. -Essential ability to interact effectively and sustain relationships with investigators, colleagues, and partners at multiple locations -A demonstrated ability to provide leadership in a line of research and to collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams. -Enthusiasm for contributing to and expanding a new and innovative program in pharmacoepidemiology research and training
