The imaging technician provides assistance in all areas of radiology for the College of Dentistry Radiology Clinic; is responsible for checking in patients, coordinating/gathering all documentation related to the patient chart, overseeing accurate completion of necessary forms, accurately entering new patient demographics and insurance information into axiUm in a timely fashion, taking incoming patient calls, scheduling appointments with patients, and assisting with patient check-out. This position will also be responsible for takes intra- and extraoral radiographs; provides assistance to students, manages patient flow through clinic; orders and maintains supplies and computerized patient records, maintains a supply of sterilized instruments, imports and exports digital radiographs. The imaging technician should maintain a respectful and supportive environment for the patients, students, staff and faculty; maintain quality assurance and infection control in the radiology clinic; evaluate and inspect the Oral Radiology equipment to ensure adequate operation and to report and follow-up deficiencies to the clinic/program director.
This position requires successful completion of a criminal background check and drug and alcohol screening.
This position must have dexterity in the fingers and be able to use both hands, and the ability to manipulate instruments, materials, and operate dental equipment.

7th grade education or higher; one course in x-ray principles and techniques (or one month of experience); 20 hours of training in operation of x-ray equipment (or one week of experience); one course in chemical processing of x-ray film (or one month of experience); one course in hospital/clinic/laboratory practices and procedures (or one month of experience); or equivalent.
Training and certified in dental radiography; dental assistant radiographer's license or certified dental assistant; computer skills; knowledge of x-ray principles and techniques, safety practices and procedures; skill in operation of x-ray equipment; ability to deal with problems involving several variables in familiar context, understand technical instructions, cooperate with co-workers; ability to bend, reach, stretch, squat, twist, lift up to 25 lbs., and stand for long duration of time; ability to understand system of mechanical procedures and maintain accurate records; ability to deal with problems involving few variables in familiar context; knowledge of training in use of x-ray equipment; and the ability to maintain a friendly and professional atmosphere.
Target Salary: $12.00 - $14.50 Hourly
