This position will require travel between Gibbs Dr. and Moores Cancer Center.
Under general supervision of the BMT Finance Manager, the BMT Program Assistant is responsible for customer service, registration, and appointment scheduling, insurance verification and BMT authorization retrieval.
Typical duties include answering incoming customer calls, completing online registration, scheduling appointments and securing authorization for BMT services. The BMT program assistant will also be responsible for supporting the BMT Program Administrator with coordination of Board Meetings, special projects, marketing events and general project management.
A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience.
Knowledge of third-party payors including federal, state and private health plans.
Possess strong computer skills and be able to work between multiple systems during calls.
Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
Possess problem solving ability by using good judgment and applying these skills to assist customers and ensure customers' expectations are met.
Be a self-starter who is accountable and requires minimal direction and supervision.
Prior Bone Marrow Transplant experience.
Cadence scheduling and electronic medical records experience.
Must be able to work various hours and locations; this position requires candidate travels between two specific work sites.
