Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Assistant Director, Coding and Data Quality for Telehealth Initiatives for the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Reporting to the Executive Director of Telehealth Programs, the Assistant Director, Coding and Data Quality (ADCDQ) manages all the vendor relationships and applications in use for the Telehealth initiatives and RWJMS staff, faculty, students and guests. In this capacity the (ADCDQ) manages the eConsult data extracts providing information on claims, scheduling data and extracts from the referral application software vendor as well as the associated analytics and reporting; supports operations with ongoing data management of all survey data, integration and reporting; works with internal and external data providers to build databases and reporting for the NAS/SEI community ECHO.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Oversees and manages all aspects of data administration, security and data analytics required to support the eConsults and Project ECHO initiatives and oversight of the Department of Family Medicine's CPC+ program reporting.
Oversees the performance and process improvement data analytics and reporting for all offerings working closely with the management team to define the metrics and reporting requirements.
Creates in-house databases to track milestones, metrics, key performance indicators and reports for Project ECHO and eConsults reporting for the management team and other stakeholders, as needed.
Is the key interface to the RWJMS IT department to ensure the applications, use of the website and data integration requirements for the Telehealth initiatives are maintained in compliance with HIPAA and all Rutgers RWJMS business and IT regulations, standards and end- user requirements.
Prepares long and short-range plans for applications selection, data analytic applications and reporting, systems development, systems maintenance, production activities and necessary support resources pertaining to the Telehealth Initiatives.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, applied social sciences or a similar field.
At least one (1) year of experience in public health, data management, clinical research, statistical analysis.
Experience with healthcare and clinical data (patient data, quality data, claims), as well as an understanding of electronic medical record system data collection and reporting.
Equivalent education, experience and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirements.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge and understanding of healthcare-related data for: reporting to external stakeholders, data analysis, and report generation; and meeting accountability and assessment requirements of a healthcare organization.
Must have a high level of computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite and data querying tools.
Extensive knowledge of data management and manipulation in advanced Excel and SQL.
Ability to analyze data using statistical and Business Intelligence tools like Microsoft SSRS, SSIS, and SSAS.
Must have excellent project management, time management, communication, interpersonal, decision making, analytic, and reporting skills.
Must be able to work with a wide range of individuals with diverse backgrounds and perspectives on data usage including faculty, staff, and senior administrators; as well as individuals at other healthcare institutions, media outlets, and government offices.
At least one year of experience in environmental occupational health and understanding of air pollution effects on tuberculosis development.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Physical Demands: Significant telephone and email communication are required. Extensive work from a personal computer is required. In addition, must be able to function under rapidly changing and stressful conditions. Standing, sitting, walking, talking, hearing. No special vision requirements. Must be able to exert force up to twenty-five pounds.
Must be willing to travel to various locations across the state for meetings.
