Position reports to the Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships and works as part of a cross-functional team to develop and support strategic objectives for the clinical enterprise. The incumbent will support tactics related to short and long-term strategies and will be responsible for identifying, developing, and recommending strategic initiatives for the Health System.
The incumbent will support strategic planning, development & implementation of projects including building core processes for the assessment and execution of strategic initiatives and defined performance standards. Additionally, the incumbent will participate in evaluating potential opportunities in acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic alliances with clinical and research partners.
Daily work includes providing thought leadership for cross-functional teams through all phases of the strategic planning cycle. Leads and conducts quantitative and qualitative analyses that contribute to the development of strategic insights, recommended actions and project plans. Builds and interprets financial models to inform planning process and creates actionable ideas. Provides information to senior leadership in both written and oral presentation formats. Stays abreast of current healthcare trends and synthesizes knowledge to apply to plans for the organization.
The Strategy Manager is intellectually curious, possesses strategic thinking skills and ability to build consensus among critical stakeholders. This position contributes to the success of the organization by conducting objective analysis to identify recommendations that will influence the direction of the clinical enterprise.
The Strategy Manager will be knowledgeable of broader organizational projects and processes and will be able to provide project management to support clinical and administrative leadership to implement strategic priorities. The successful incumbent will apply a collaborative approach to problem solving across multi-functional teams and leadership positions with strong interpersonal skills and a consultative mindset to influence without direct authority and to develop effective partnerships.
Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple organizational projects concurrently, with competing timelines and follow-up of external and internal client requests is critical.
A Bachelor's Degree in business, healthcare administration or related area; and/or equivalent experience/training.
Five (5+) or more years of relevant experience - analytical, analyses of clinical capabilities and financial performance of strategic initiatives or programs.
Strong analytical skills (Excel required, familiarity with Access, SQL, Cognos, and other analytical tools preferred).
Proven experience and proven success in business development concepts, best practices, and functions.
Conduct market assessments, evaluate environmental trends, track and synthesize complex legislation and the impact (preferably on hospital programs).
Experience evaluating strategic opportunities, researching regional and national market opportunities including M&A and evolving models for partnership.
Prior experience in strategy or management consulting, strategy, finance or operations role within a large healthcare organization.
Hospital administrative fellowship experience.
Ability to communicate through PowerPoint.
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
