The University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center (UMCCC) is currently seeking a full-time Clinical Research Project Manager for a 5-year research project in subjects with advanced cancers with goal of comprehensively profiling tumors with Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) including cell-free DNA and analyze the associated clinical outcomes data.
The Project Manager will demonstrate leadership in implementing the vision and goals of the project. Major responsibilities include setting and maintaining a goal-oriented, supportive, and friendly team culture; training and supervising a multi-member team of research coordinators; establishing project goals and milestones and tracking progress; and, coordinating with key partners including the sponsor, outpatient clinic staff and PI.
The successful applicant will be responsible for all aspects of the execution of the project including the development, supervision and management of a biorepository; coordination of subject enrollment on an IRB approved studies related to the project, maintaining IRB and other regulatory approval, entering and updating clinical report forms, data curation/entry from electronic medical records, communication with stakeholders, periodic report generation, and leading project meetings.
The Project Manager will be responsible for weekly communication with the project Principal Investigators (PIs), and coordination of multiple coordinators in the team including volunteer personnel.
Under FLSA, incumbents in this position meet the criteria for exempt status.
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in science, or other related field. A minimum of two years’ experience working in research with demonstrated experience in preparing and managing research protocols. Thorough knowledge in patient consent processes and collecting data and specimen. Familiarity with internal University processes (eResearch/CareWeb/MiChart) and excellent written communication and solid computer skills are an advantage. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to exercise diplomacy and work effectively with a diverse group of people and ability to manage dynamics of a multi-member high-functioning team. Applicant should have a record of completing tasks in a timely manner and being goal setting and achieving, self-motivated, self-driven and be able to establish a goal oriented and friendly team culture.
Master's Degree preferred in a relevant field and experience with biorepository collection (1+ years) or clinical research (1+ years), prior leadership and supervising experience; Redcap database proficiency.
This is a 5 year term limited position.
