Senior Software Engineer - Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute 10654
The Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute at West Virginia University is seeking applications for a Senior Software Engineer/Project Manger to work with the Applied Research program on research and development program focused on population health and human performance. This position will in collaboration with the director of Human Performance will provide project management by carrying our research and developments of projects.
In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:
Work independently and/or with a research and development team to gather and organize requirements to design, build, test, and deploy software applications that assist in the collection, management, analysis, and investigation of population health.
Duties include the design, implementation, and management of a multidisciplinary engineering team to develop front-end tools and back-end servers to support mobile, web, cloud, and standalone applications.
Bachelor's degree in a computer science-related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Six (6) years of experience in the following:
Software development team leader
Deployment of software applications
Development of front-end tools and back-end servers for mobile, wearable, web, cloud, and desktop software applications
Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse populations
Ability to collect requirements to, design, build, test, deploy, and maintain mobile, wearable, cloud, web, and desktop applications.
Ability to create, annotate and maintain detailed records
Demonstrated ability to utilize various cross platform software development tools
Experience project manager to organize and manage multidisciplinary development projects
Ability to effectively prepare and present information in one-on-one settings in addition to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
Timely and efficient in testing and deployment of applications
Ability to conduct data analytics and preparation of reports
