The genes we are born with may contribute to our risk of developing certain types of cancer, including breast, ovarian, colorectal, and prostate cancer. The Clinical Genetics Service in the Department of Medicine at MSK helps individuals to understand their risk for disease. We offer state of the art genetic counseling and testing, and can assist individuals (affected or unaffected) and families who are at risk for inherited cancer predispositions to make informed medical decisions.
As a Project Coordinator in the Clinical Genetics Service, you will assist in the creation of a multigenerational pedigree based on an individual's family history of cancer and relevant conditions. In addition, you will be responsible for the planning, coordinating, implementing, and monitoring of special projects and process improvement in collaboration with the Supervisor.
Take necessary steps to obtain pathology report prior to counseling session
Create patient's pedigree in Genetics database
Track Clinical Genetics Service Protocol recruitment by being in communication with the research staff and updating selected databases
Coordinate the creation and development of new questionnaires and forms to be scanned by optical disc
Interact with the Biostatistics group regarding programming issues that may arise
Assist with design tools, (e.g., intake forms, data bases, Excel spread sheets) to insure maximum consistency in data collection
Coordinate project timelines and make necessary arrangements to ensure that subprojects are completed on time.
Manage the overall planning and operations of initiatives.
Initiate analyses (operational and financial), gather and manipulate data.
Prepare data reports and analyze and assess the quantitative and qualitative impact of initiatives against goals on an ongoing basis.
Provide administrative support for project related meetings and departmental programs by managing and coordinating meetings among key stakeholders.
Adept at planning and prioritizing work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals.
Effective and successful at managing multiple simultaneous projects.
Highly organized and attentive to detail.
An effective communicator, capable of determining how best to reach different audiences and executing communications based on that understanding.

A Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred in addition to experience
Experience in project coordination and/or management
Comfortable working in a dynamic environment.
Strong organizational, prioritization, time and project management skills.
Ability to solve problems by using a logical, systematic, sequential approach.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to make appropriate decisions in ambiguous situations.
Knowledge of oncology specific terminology strongly preferred
Experience in clinical trials/ investigative preferred #LI-POST
