Join the AMA team as the Platform Partnership Director in Periodical Publishing – Product Management. In collaboration with a cross functional partnership development team, the Platform Partnership Director will develop, formalize and grow long-term external partnerships. Present AMA Ed Hub and JAMA Network platform capabilities to prospective and existing partners. Formulate technology solutions that address partnership needs and align to mission, strategic and revenue objectives. Recommend platform enhancements based on your knowledge of technologies, evolving trends, market and competitive conditions, stakeholder input, and partner feedback. Other Responsibilities will include:
Build partner relationships and support client implementations:
Engage potential partners, build relationships, and facilitate all technological aspects of partner agreements between the AMA Ed Hub and partners.
Deliver presentations and support RFP responses for partner outreach programs.
Work to identify cost-effective and operationally effective win-win scenarios that help reduce the friction in forming new relationships between medical associations.
Communicate new and upcoming business solutions to the partner program.
Review client technical infrastructure and devise integration solutions that work within those systems.
Author white papers, case studies, and technical briefs focused on technical solutions.
Identify and recommend new product/platform features:
Function as the voice of the partner persona to internal product managers; champion changes to existing platforms that will support the needs of partners.
Identify gaps in our platform and systems as compared to competitors in the industry and maintain a dashboard of competing digital providers, lead reviews of the dashboard on a bi-annual basis.
Assist product managers to roadmap new development based on partner needs.
Identify cost-effective solutions with the longest possible arc of benefit.
BA or BS required; an advanced degree (e.g. MBA) preferred.
10 years’ experience in publishing industry and/or digital education business with advanced knowledge of revenue streams and cost structures of complex publishing organizations, preferred experience as a Medical Journals Publisher or Medical Book Acquisition Editor.
7 years’ experience in product management and development of digital products, including experience authoring requirements, generating acceptance criteria, releasing products to a wide and mature end user audience.
Experience in presenting and communicating key concepts and ideas across all areas of the organization, and to external clients and partners.
Proven track record in the responsibilities of driving product growth through clearly defined KPIs, data analysis and targeted online engagement marketing program.
Experience with stage-gate, lean, and/or agile product development processes required, serving as lead ‘product owner’ representing the voice of customer, business, and user.
Domain expertise in any of the following areas strongly preferred: Healthcare CME and technology, Medical Publishing, SaaS, Software Product Development, Business Development and/or Account Management.
Up to 35% travel required.
