The Mayo Clinic legal counsel provides legal advice and counsel for a world-class, non-profit, academic medical center and affiliated health care system. This position will provide counsel on a wide variety of general health law issues, including but not limited to federal and state regulatory compliance (e.g., Stark, Anti-kickback, facility and provider licensure, HIPAA), scope of practice, general patient care issues, electronic medical record issues, and telemedicine. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for health care business agreements and transactional matters. This individual will retain and manage outside counsel and lead and participate in teams.
Requires completion of law school. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience advising clients on general health law and regulatory matters in the healthcare industry, as well as transactional experience. Candidates should have sound legal project management skills and the ability to effectively lead teams, serve as a positive change agent, and delegate work in a fast-paced, team-based environment within a dynamic organization
Requires a license to practice law in the state of residence; must be eligible for licensure in Florida.
