The Department of Media Arts, Sciences, and Studies in the Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College is currently accepting applications for a full-time tenure-eligible faculty position with a focus on digital producing, production and post-production to begin August 16, 2019. This position offers the opportunity to be part of one of the strongest undergraduate communication programs in the country. We are seeking candidates that will bring to our program professional industry experience in producing and a deep desire to teach the next generation of media professionals. We are looking specifically for experience in three or more of the following areas:
producing for the entertainment industry
pre-production, production, and post production
traditional distribution and distribution for new web-based platforms The successful candidate will teach in her/his area of expertise plus within the department curriculum and will have an opportunity to help shape future curricular innovation in the Department's producing courses. The ideal candidate will be equipped to create an environment that encourages student learning, will have a demonstrated record of professional accomplishment, and will bring additional visibility to the department, both within the college and nationally. Our professors are expected to serve as academic adviser to students and on department, school, and college committees. There is also an expectation of peer-reviewed professional activity in the form of scholarly publication or juried creative work for tenure-eligible appointment such as this one in the Park School. The successful candidate will also demonstrate an ability to teach in ways that value the varied learning needs and interests of a culturally diverse student population, and that reflect a commitment to encouraging the success of all students. We also seek candidates who have relevant experience and/or a record of professional engagement with groups and communities underrepresented in the academy.
