Project Manager, Capital Projects (Project Engineer) (1805633) – Seneca, SC
Where the Chemistry Happens
We are seeking a professional like you to manage all phases of capital and expense projects including, but not limited to, scope development, process design (e.g., P&ID and PFD development), management of outside engineering resources/contractors, cost estimating, project approval, equipment procurement of equipment, executing Management of Change (MOC), development of commissioning procedures, and start-up. Under the direction of the Engineering Manager, you will successfully complete assigned projects on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with BASF Corporation Engineering standards and procedures.

Formula for Success
Leveraging your educational background in an Engineering- or Construction-related field and professional experience in project management within a chemical manufacturing environment, you will manage multiple projects by maintaining costs, scheduling, conducting technical reviews, and leading Value Improving Practices (VIPs) to ensure projects incorporate required improvements.
Successfully engaging across the organization, you will partner with production personnel and engineers to understand processes and how they should be represented.
As a leader of internal project teams and outside engineering contractors, you will develop and document project scope, and ensure the safe and efficient performance of construction activities.
Your broad knowledge of chemical unit operations, process and mechanical equipment, and instrumentation will be a valued asset as you collaborate with Construction and Purchasing to plan, award, and execute contracts for field installations.
Driving strategic decisions for the business, you will develop and maintain project schedules from Phase 0 to Phase III to ensure proper flow of task execution and achievement of business goals.
Your strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills are essential as we will rely on you to work effectively with Manufacturing to define the division of work and budget responsibilities for activities occurring during mechanical completion and start-up.
Leaning on your business savviness, you will provide project controls directly or with the Cost Engineering Group to maintain project budgets and spending forecasts.
Your solid attention to detail will be of great importance as you will prepare/maintain schedules, develop/monitor estimates and manpower forecasts, provide timely and effective communications regarding project activity, and lead the Utilities Review to ensure the project incorporates necessary changes.
