Ball State University Information Technology is seeking a technical project manager. In this role you will perform advisory functions that include project evaluation and prioritization, initiative identification, project request analysis, project and purchase recommendations, tracking implementation and budgets. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. At least two years of project management experience with large multi-faceted projects; demonstrated experience in providing technical analysis of complex business-process issues, problems and solutions; demonstrated experience working with third-party vendors to determine product and services technical compatibility with existing enterprise wide infrastructure and systems initiatives. Ability to understand and create design specifications for SQL scripts in an ERP environment. Highly developed communication and presentation skills; ability to quickly adapt and become familiar with processes and procedures and quickly establish a rapport and confidence among multiple units and levels of the organization.

Preferred qualifications: Master’s degree in a technology or business related program. Two years of experience working in an IT environment at a higher educational institution providing hardware/software solutions at a managerial or leadership level. Two years demonstrated competency in the design and implementation of ETL processes in a relational database environment (Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server preferred); ability to understand and create design specifications for SQL scripts in an ERP environment. Strong communication skills and the demonstrated ability to coordinate systems design, implementation and operation using a team-oriented approach.
