Responsible for the College's overall web presence including but not limited to updating, monitoring, and maintaining www.geneseee.edu and various social media channels. Creates and manages a variety of interactive online media that enhances the public image of GCC; deepens the College's relationships with different constituencies; and promotes GCC's programs and activities through multiple digital channels including free social media postings and also paid advertising campaigns.
Strategically deliver content through a variety of digital mediums, including but not limited to the College website, WordPress blog, and multiple social media platforms, and e-newsletters or e-bulletins.
Write and design time-sensitive top-level and high-use content (e.g. home page features, landing pages, online advertising, FAQs).
Optimize webpages on the College's website to cater to search engines, increasing traffic and make data-driven decisions to the website that cater to the end-user's expectations.
Create, edit and/ or acquire text, links, database content, still images, video, animation, audio and interactive content in accordance with general editorial and communications policy.
Promote the website and other new media products to appropriate constituencies.
Maintain current with new and emerging media technologies, trends and best practices.
Serve as a key member of several College committees such as the Digital Communications Group and its Social Media Governance subcommittee, and other committees or task forces as assigned.
Maintain college presence and links on major social networks and establish new accounts as deemed strategically appropriate.
Moderate online forums, blogs and chats, and review external posts.
Assist with the introduction and management of a new content management system and help develop appropriate protocols related to its college-wide use.
Design web forms and other interactive devices incorporating photography or video as appropriate.
Maintain project log using Work Zone project management software in MarCom and Ellucian Helpdesk ticketing system.
Coordinate top-level and secondary design of the website and other new media products.
Following College graphic and brand standards, help develop "templatization" that helps ensure consistency of repeated webpage designs and navigation, and social media products.
Maintain appropriate documentation of tri-monthly social media analytic reports, as well as Google Analytics to document and report on website activity.
Bachelor's Degree or Associate Degree in Website Development and Computer Programming, Communications, Marketing, Social Media, or related fields with coursework in information technology required. Master's Degree preferred.
With Bachelor's Degree, three or more years' experience managing content and production for high traffic web sites and new media required. With Associate Degree, five years' experience managing content and production for high traffic web sites and new media required.
