This position assists in the managing, marketing, recruiting, and advertising of all international student initiatives at Central Washington University. The incumbent will develop and administer partnerships for student recruitment and program marketing with surrounding institutions and institutions abroad. The international recruiter will develop and present Central Washington University’s philosophy, programs, services, etc. to prospective students and the general public in individual and group settings, domestically and internationally. The recruiter will have a strong focus on the recruitment of students for CWU center campuses; Lynnwood and Des Moines. Recruiter will be based at CWU Center locations in Seattle, with frequent trips to Ellensburg. Recruiter will be responsible for all aspects of the recruitment process, including generating applications, and managing prospective student relationship from point of application through enrollment.
Counseling/Advising: - Provide excellent and timely customer service to prospective international students at all stages in the admissions process; i.e. inquiry to enrollment - Grow, manage and maintain a student database of potential students; complete with communication strategy to work with students from inquiry through enrollment - Manage admissions processes for international students via modern technologies such as Skype, WhatsApp, Wechat, and other methods - Provide cultural, immigration, academic, and transfer information to prospective international students, parents, advisors, counselors and agents; serve as a DSO, this will include some F1 student visa advising - Market to and recruit prospective international students for matriculation at CWU campus center locations, main campus and for OISP’s UESL program - Schedule to attend and participate in recruitment activities in the state, US and internationally - Develop and implement a transfer student recruitment focus for CWU center locations; i.e. Lynnwood and Des Moines - Participate in determining articulation agreements, and transfer guides for international students; - Evaluate and research foreign credentials, educational systems and trends in international student mobility - Act as a liaison between Student Affairs, Admissions and the Office of International Studies and Programs by providing information and feedback regarding the recruitment of international students
Marketing/Recruitment: - Aid in the development of marketing materials for international audience (print, digital and video) - Develop proposals for international recruitment (market analysis/projections/budgeting) of university matriculated and UESL students; - Develop and manage social media content for CWU international accounts; i.e. Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube - Assist with international student recruitment marketing budget and forecasting; - Develop and maintain network of contacts at local community colleges, high schools, as well as EducationUSA advisors; - Collaborate with deans, faculty, department chairs, and advisors to share information on programs of study, recruitment events and marketing for international students; - Make proper referrals when necessary
- Coordinate New International Student Orientation and international student events with OISP staff. - Coordinate daily office requirements for students and other staff. - Supervise student employees assistance with social media campaigns, email to new international student inquiries, and document translations;
- Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director or designee.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Public Relations, International Education Administration or related field
One year of experience working at a college/university in a marketing, advising, admissions, or program support role;
Ability to work effectively with populations representing diverse cultural backgrounds, life experiences and abilities;
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Demonstrated skills in customer service, time management and organization
Ability to maintain high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Experience using a computer and Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, the Internet and e-mail.
Experience generating social media content on Facebook, Instagram, etc.
OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to speak, read and write in a language other than English;
Familiarity with foreign educational systems, grading scales and curricula and transcripts
Working or studying experience outside the United States and/or with international student communities.

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
Salary: Dependent upon qualifications and experience
Working Conditions: Work is performed in an indoor office setting with frequent in-person interactions. It is essential to be able to remain at a desk/computer work station for prolonged periods of time, perform extensive data entry and other computer-related tasks and create/maintain filing systems for departmental records. Some evening or weekend work and/or occasional travel may be required.
Travel throughout the region/country and abroad to recruit new international students will be required. Frequent trips to Ellensburg is expected, as well as weekly virtual meetings.
