Kansas State University Global Campus seeks applicants for the position of Associate Dean for Academic Incubation and Innovation. This position serves in a lead role addressing university-wide academic portfolio management for enrollment growth by leading the development, management and launch of new learning initiatives through collaboration with all colleges, departments and campuses at K-State. In addition to leading digital learning research efforts, this position also provides strategic leadership in creating an institutional culture and capacity for high-quality, innovative program and course design.
Master’s degree or equivalent in instructional design, education technology, instructional technology or a related degree plus a minimum of 5 years of academic administrative experience in progressively responsible positions is required.

Master’s degree or equivalent in instructional design, education technology, instructional technology, or a related degree
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
Doctoral degree or equivalent in instructional design, education technology, instructional technology or a related degree
Demonstrated success in leading innovation initiatives with a focus on technology, digital learning, pedagogy and student success
Demonstrated success in working with academic leaders and faculty, and building a strong and collegial community within the university
Extensive curriculum development and project leadership experience with the ability to lead high-quality projects/initiatives with senior-level stakeholders
A superior ability in oral, written, and interpersonal communication
A demonstrated track record of facilitating faculty development and mentoring programs and working with deans, department heads and administration
Experience overseeing online courses and programs
Established record of engagement in research, scholarship and large-scale inter-institutional initiatives
Experience working on analytics projects and tools
Demonstrated initiative, independent judgment, diplomacy and service-oriented attitude
Supervisory and operational management experience of professional staff
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge and understanding of data analysis including key performance indicators, metrics, and data/predictive analytics to support planning, decision-making and continuous improvement efforts
Ability to serve as digital learning advocate, navigating and resolving challenges and collaborating with faculty on academic initiatives
Knowledge of best practices in online design in order to develop and implement programs and processes that help engage students
Knowledge of management and supervisory principles and practices with the ability to supervise, train, motivate and mentor staff in a high-performing operation
Skill in encouraging and ensuring the highest standards in experiential learning, especially in a digital environment
Change management skills, including the ability to adapt and handle ambiguity
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify the appropriate analytical processes for addressing particular issues, arrive at supportable recommendations, build consensus and ensure successful implementation
Understanding of and sensitivity to diversity issues related to effective communication and interaction with persons from diverse cultural backgrounds, age ranges, social backgrounds, experience levels and more
Ability to evaluate the attractiveness of new opportunities with an entrepreneurial, creative, and resourceful mindset with appropriate fiscal foundations
Ability to manage and prioritize across multiple projects, strategic priorities and issues with a drive toward informed answers and results in a focused and efficient manner with the agility to make changes to plans as new information is learned and analyzed
Ability to work with internal stakeholders to set standards relating to innovation, student engagement and learning efficacy to be applied across the university programs along with oversight of the application of these standards
Ability to ensure the effectiveness of faculty mentoring and professional development initiatives
Ability to develop and implement strategies for effective communication with faculty and staff
Ability to oversee the nomination and recognition of staff and faculty for university, statewide, national and international innovative teaching and learning awards

Additional Salary Information: Please note: the minimum salary for this position is $84,990. Actual salary will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, education, internal equity and departmental funding. Salary offers are typically made between the minimum and midpoint of the salary range. The range indicated includes both the typical hiring range and potential future progression.
