The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at St. Cloud State University is accepting applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Computer Engineering specializing in embedded systems (hardware and firmware). The successful candidate will be focused on providing effective undergraduate instruction. Teaching responsibilities will include the lab based undergraduate and graduate digital hardware sequence, including digital circuit design, microprocessors, FPGA, embedded systems firmware using assembly, C, VHDL/Verilog as well as other undergraduate and graduate courses as needed. The successful applicant will also be expected to engage undergraduates and Masters students in research and development work outside of the classroom and through the senior design experience, as well as through collaborative work with industry.
The successful candidate will also advise students, maintain and improve expertise in a discipline and in pedagogy, contribute to student growth and development, evaluate student performance, support accreditation efforts, undertake scholarly activities and provide service to the university and community.

Earned doctorate in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering by date of appointment
Teaching or research experience in the areas of hardware and firmware of embedded systems
Evidence of demonstrated ability to teach and work with persons from culturally diverse backgrounds
Industrial experience in embedded systems
Experience in engaging students in research or development work
Demonstrated ability to develop externally sponsored projects
Experience with ABET or other accreditation
