Develop, implement and maintain methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies. Collaborate with Design and New Product Producibility engineers to achieve optimum product design for manufacturability. Define and lead projects to improve process, safety, quality, delivery and productivity performance. Works on issues of moderate scope and complexity where analysis of situations or data requires review of relevant factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures to determine appropriate action. Essential Functions
Demonstrate an awareness of state-of-the-art and lean manufacturing concepts and practices.
Utilize computational skills and appropriate software to maximize productivity.
Possess production process knowledge in electronic and electro-mechanical manufacturing.
Respond to manufacturing problems by investigating and resolving such problems to assure a continuing flow of production.
Lead Kaizen events and other productivity and cost reduction initiatives.
Prepare floor layouts, implement use of new equipment, and perform process qualifications as required. Utilize Management of Change (MOC) process for all activity.
Assist in the introduction and/or transfer of products to manufacturing, including procuring and implementing tooling and production equipment and initiating of routings, bills of material, manufacturing work instructions, and any other required documentation.
Resolve problems in product performance, quality, reliability, or environmental impact by implementing design changes or complete redesign in manufacturing when necessary.
Use personal computer to obtain, organize, and analyze data and to prepare charts and reports. Software proficiency skills required in word processing, spreadsheet, and SAP. Other beneficial software skills include CAD, report generation, process mapping, project management, and databases.
Implement or assist in the implementation of manufacturing labor standards, production routings, manufacturing work instructions, and SAP system needs to maintain production. Use factory automation software to monitor and maintain production.
Lead the development and implementation of cost reduction programs and achieve department and plant targets.
Provide design input and execution support for the development and deployment of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and information management systems in the plant.
Participate in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) analyses for their specific manufacturing technology, process, and methodology.
Conducts tasks in accordance with applicable health, safety, quality, and environmental regulations (state/federal laws, ISO9001, ISO14001, etc.) as well as Rockwell Automation policies and procedures.
