Community Hospital within close proximity to Chicago. Under the direction of the Vice President, Patient Care Services, the Director of Pharmacy manages all drug dispensing and clinical operations of the pharmacy including the main hospital pharmacy. The Director is responsible for personnel management including training, performance reviews, hiring/firing, competencies and licensure. This leadership role will develop a strategic plan including goals with a direction aimed at improving department performance. Among other responsibilities for the Executive Director are systems, information technology and project management, revising and updating operational procedures and policies, regulatory compliance, and accreditation. Financial responsibilities of this role include ensuring that the pharmacy is profitable, updating the charge master, purchasing and receiving as well as formulary availability.
The Director is responsible for budgeting of salary and non-salary expense and to ensure that budget targets for salary and non-salary expense are met. The role will integrate department activities with the organization's mission, goals and objectives to optimize drug therapy, manage financial performance and satisfy customers, staff and all allied health care personnel. The Director supervises approximately 7 Full-Time Pharmacists and 20 FTE’s within the pharmacy program.
Qualified candidates will have a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (Pharm.D.) along with 3 years of some form of hospital pharmacy supervisory/management experience. MBA, Administrative residency is preferred but not required. Illinois pharmacy license or reciprocity eligible.
